Portland

I spent four years working with Greg at our biotech company in Menlo Park. September 2011, Greg up and quit the company, moving back to Portland to be closer to his parents. Back in Oregon, he can afford a house for his three kids and life isn't as frantic as it was in the Bay Area. One April weekend, my boss and I flew out to check up on Greg in Portland. He showed us around the McMenamins bars and took us to a gondola ride, Sunday market, and even a Church of Elvis. I dug up two fancy restaurants for dinner: The Woodsman Tavern and a Thai place called Pok Pok. Over the weekend, I insisted we find hipsters with outrageous mustaches serving craft beer from a bus. We found them. Thanks, Greg. Work isn't the same without you.
